St Peter’s Square

I shot this image of St Peter’s Square at Vatican City in 1990.  I climbed to the top of the basilica dome to get the best perspective possible.  It is amazing that this square can hold up to 200,000 people!  I love this shot as it is not a typical shot of the Vatican that you normally see.

Restored Portrait

I recently had someone ask me if I could restore an old photograph of her and her mother taken back in the 1950s.  I informed her that I don’t do a lot of photo restoration anymore since I have done more of real photography work now.  However, I was up for the challenge and decided to dabble back into it.  As you can see from above, the original photo on the left and my last restored copy on the right.  There was a lot of work that this photo needed.  The nice thing was that she remembered all of the colors and after she reviewed the final restore she was really overwhelmed by the look.  It was a lot of fun to do!  Enjoy.

Tiger Stadium Panorama

Well, since I am itching for Spring and baseball season to start, I thought I would post another one of my favorite images of the old Tiger Stadium.  Of course, the stadium is completely gone today but this is the way it looked back in 2006.  I stood on the corner of Michigan and Trumbull and photographed this panorama shot of the stadium and the corner.  Many of you Detroiters will remember this view, but those of you too young or who do not live in Detroit will know what one of the most popular corners in Detroit once looked like.  Go Tigers!

The Elwood Bar & Grill

I photographed the Elwood Bar & Grill in Downtown Detroit because I love the nostalgic retro look of the building and the entrance.  As you can see, the deco is very retro with all of the neon lighting on the outside.  It is a very popular place for fans of the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions since the building is located right across the street from both sport venues.  You can get more information of the Elwood Bar & Grill here.

Wedding Details

Sometimes the best shots are the little wedding detail photos.  I photographed these groom’s shoes as he was getting ready for his big day.  Just something different that some people never photograph.

Assistant Portrait Shoot

I had the pleasure of photographing my assistant for updates to her portfolio and some social network web sites.  She has stood behind and on the side of me for so many photo shoots that it was time she actually got in front of the glass.

December Family Portraits

I had the pleasure of photographing my good friend and his family.  We have talked about doing a portrait shoot for months and we finally got the opportunity to do it!  Enjoy this “sneak peek”.

Fall Tree Shot

Sometimes you just look at something at the right time and know it is going to be a great shot.  While I was photographing a family portrait this fall at Mill Race Park (Northville, Michigan), I turned and looked at this tree, it caught my eye and I knew the shot had to be made.  I enhanced the image in Lightroom and Photoshop CS3 to get the image above.  Enjoy!
